Meet the Director

Karen Galvin founded Vision Enterprises, The Training Scene’s parent company, in 1994 after extensive experience in the mortgage lending, manufacturing, and human resource fields.


She has held sales, management, and training positions at The Boston Five Mortgage Corporation, Prime Financial Corporation, Gerber Scientific Corporation, and Phoenix Home Life Insurance Company. Karen designs and delivers content-rich, customized training programs and keynote addresses nationwide and globally. Her hard-hitting, practical tips and techniques for employees at all levels provide organizations with better performance, increased productivity, and an improved bottom line. She consults with numerous corporations, not-for-profits, and government agencies. She has trained thousands of professionals in leadership, sales, team development, communication skills, customer care, and harassment prevention in her dynamic, engaging and entertaining style.

Karen’s passion for live theatre and her background in both acting and directing are what drove the creation and success of the theatre-based training component of The Training Scene.


She “sets the stage” in all our productions by taking a primary role in creating scripts for the programs, and hiring and rehearsing with our cast. Her facilitation skills bring the spotlight from the stage to the audience and the topic at hand, providing the connection for participants so they may go back to the workplace to take “ACTION!”

Karen donates her time to the Hugh O’Brian Youth Foundation and the Association of the Blind, and is a member in good standing with several associations, including the Society for Human Resource Management, Webster Chamber of Commerce, Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce, and Moxie. She served as 1999 President of The Rochester Professional Sales Association, and served a 1996-2000 term as President for Supportive and Nurturing Entrepreneurs. In 1997, she co-founded Creative Networking Coalition, a business introduction group, promoting the growth of sales professionals through networking and personalized referrals.
